Foundress / Principal

Rev. Mother Carina Maris of Jesus, SJHP, Ph.D. is the is the principal of CuttingEdge Learning Academy. She is the foundress of the Congregation of Sisters and Sons of Jesus the High Priest, CuttingEdge Learning Academy, CuttingEdge Intercontinental Academy (in Nigeria), and Priestines Institute of Technology. She has a teaching degree from Nigeria as well as a B.A. in Psychology from William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ, M.A. in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy, Catholic School Leadership, and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Managerment and Policy from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.

Mother Carina is a life strategist, missionary, a poet, accomplished author and musician. She taught K-8 for 12 years in New Jersey and was a K-8 principal for 9 years and K-12 principal for 3 years before she focused more of her time on her religious order.





Vice Principal / 4th and 5th Grade Teacher

Sr. Regina is a member of the Sisters and Sons of Jesus the High Priest (SJHP) congregation. Sr. Regina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Management, and Policy, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. She has her teaching degree from Nigeria and earned her Principal Certification in New Jersey. Sister has had the pleasure of working as a teacher and Director for Religious Education (DRE) in many different schools in Nigeria, New Jersey and Florida. Sister’s love for children has helped her over the years and has made her to become children’s a great advocate for children. Currently, Sister is an Elementary teacher and the vice principal o CuttingEdge Learning Academy.





Middle, Junior High & High School Teacher 6th – 12th Grades

Sr. Gabriela is member of the Congregation of the Sisters and Sons of Jesus the High Priest (SJHP). 

She is the language arts and religion teacher for the Middle, Junior High and High School students at CuttingEdge Learning Academy.






Middle & High Teacher 6th – 12th Grades

Mr. Santana is the current Math and History teacher for grades 6 - 12. He has been recognized by various organizations such as AMVET, DECA, and JROTC for his leadership, service, and education styles and has come to flourish here at CuttingEdge.  Also, a bilingual speaker he holds a plethora of other skills such as the ability to read, write and speak Spanish, holds varied technological certifications as well as behavioral and class management certificates.  He enjos the many challenges of teaching, particularly in the ESE setting and greetes each day with a unique twist and intention. 





Middle, Junior High & High School Teacher

Mrs. Dodsworth has recently joined the dynamic teaching staff of Cutting-Edge Learning Academy.

She is the current science, health and art teacher for gades 6-12.





Elementary Teacher Kindergarten – 1st Grades

Ms. Welch received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Art and ESE Education from Lynn University. She is a 2009 graduate of Tampa Catholic High School. She was an assistant director for the Tampa Bay Family Theater.  Ms. Welch instructed youth theater classes at the Tampa Ba Performing Arts Center for many years. She was a volunteer at the Kids Like Us (KLU) educational enrichment project at Lynn University and has served as a Vacation Bible School teacher.





Elementary Teacher 2nd and 3rd Grades

Sr. Shohreh is a memberr of the Sisters and Sons of Jesus the High Priest (SJHP). She is currently the teacher for the 2nd and 3rd grade class at CuttingEdge Learning Aacademy.

She graduated with a Bachelors degree B.S. from Stetson University in Deland, FL with a major is Chemistry and a minor in Psychology. After graduating from college, she worked as a labroratory assistant at Shands Hospital in Gainsville, FL. She then attended the Universsity of South Carolina of Medicine in Colombia, SC and obtained a degree of Doctor of Medicine M.D.. She then entered her residency in Anatomc and Clinical Pathology at the University of South Florida affiliated hospitals in Tampa, FL.



Teacher Assistant / PE Coach

Mrs. Cesario attended Hillsborough Community College for Business Administration and the American Institute for Banking. She has many years experience in all areas of bank management and customer service. She also was the owner of a successful embroidery and uniform company.


Principal's Administrative Assistant

Mr. Gillen has joined the staff of CuttingEdge as the Administrative Assistant to our principal, Rev. Mother Carina Maris of Jesus, (SJHP) and the the academy's Information Technology person. Mr. Gillen has attended Hillsborough Community College for Business Administration and has several years of experience working in administrative management and customer realtions.





Mrs. True attended USF in Tampa and obtained a Bachelor Degree of Science and certification in elementary education. She worked as a first and second grade teacher for 16 years before retiring. She also has worked in banking for 20 years in many different departments.

Mrs. Gillen has been with the Sister’s since the conception of CuttingEdge Learning Academy. She comes to us with over 35 years’ experience in business marketing, business management for start-up corporations and real estate development and sales.  She also works as an independent realtor and property remodeler.  She is proficient in all areas of SEC filing rules and regulations and is a current Director and Officerr of American International Ventures, Inc , a public company.
